Week 12: Growing Like Wildfire
If I had to sum up my thoughts since the last time I wrote, I would say:
Leif turns three months tomorrow, and there is a noticeable change in him since I've posted. He's been chatting up a storm, growing out of his clothes, finding his fingers and grabbing onto things, smiling more and is noticeably heavier.
Tomorrow my folks fly in and stay in CA for a week. I'm excited to see them and for them to see Leif significantly older!
And lastly, I'm participating in a facebook/social media challenge called "100 Days of Happiness"...I have to post a picture of something that makes me happy per day for 100 days straight. Only 71% of people successfully completed it. I think it's a great idea! On day 2 now, and I'd like to post the pictures on my blog too. So catching up to today:

Week 11: Happy St. Patty's Day
Happy St. Patty's Day!
Leif's cute outfit is courtesy of his Nana, thank you! Can you believe this is size 6 months? It's just a little baggy on him. He's a big baby!
Highlights of my last week or so:
-We've been taking Leif on walks with the moby wrap more often, and what's cute is hubby is starting to wear the wrap too:
-We took Leif to the mall and the car ride was almost intolerable-he screamed almost the entire way there. After a quick feeding in the car, he passed out in the moby wrap and had a fairly calm baby the rest of the trip. We then drove over to my co-worker's/friend's place (Angela) to visit her and her two adorable kids. This is also our part-time nanny when we need her!
-I tried out a 'warrior' class at the gym Angela goes to...they're offering a $100,000 reward for a 90-day challenge. As enticing as it sounds, it still costs $300 up front to participate and the point system sounded complicated. But none-the-less I tried out their most popular class at 8am Saturday morning. Since Angela is currently pregnant with her third kid, she isn't participating in the challenge or classes, but her husband is. I was thrown into a large space with about 60 other people and the workout for the day was to get in groups of 10 and then rotate station to station for 4-5 minutes. Stations varied from overhead shoulder presses with small weights, to medicine ball throwing to linked sit-ups. Then after that we crammed into an 80 degree heated tiny room where we did these boxing exercises with partners (think constantly tapping gloves over your head for 3-4 minutes as fast as you can). I was dripping. But I made it through the entire workout without giving up/stopping and was proud of myself for being able to do something like that 11 weeks after giving birth. After talking to other members of the gym about the challenge, I decided I wasn't going to sign up since working out hard/changing my diet could affect my milk supply. One gal said it would dry her up, Angela said with her second kid it was fine for her...but 1. I don't want to take the chance and 2. I can't afford it. They would have put me in the "Most Fit" category and seeing a lot of other super fit chicks in the class, I doubt I'd win. I would want to spend all my free time with Leif anyway than in a gym. I'd rather just keep working out at home next to him and/or with him, and he'll soon be big enough so that I can push him in his jogger while I go on runs.
That's about all! Leif turns 3 months in 10 days, my folks will visit in 10 days, we have tons of family visiting in April (Nana, Missy and aunts/uncles/cousins), and I go back to work in less than a month (boo).
Alright everyone, have a fun and safe St. Patty's Day!

Week 10: Wash Your Hands
Week 9-10 brought a whole new world to Leif: hands!
Leif has been slowly finding his way around his hands/fingers, and most of it involves sticking his whole fist in his mouth (when he can locate his mouth). It's pretty cute and also makes me happy because this will lead to self-soothing. He also loves sticking our fingers into his mouth-usually it's my knuckles and he spits Daddy's fingers out most the time...but makes me really think twice about washing my hands constantly.
Also he's holding his head up more and more throughout the day-
Life for me is still the same, although I dread more and more going back to work. Can I just take him to work?
My folks set a date to come down and visit on Leif's 3 month birthday. I'm glad they are able to travel down so soon!
Sorry for the quick post, but I have been brainstorming fun topics for the blog and still coming up with more. Once work starts I'll probably be posting frequently! Happy Saturday and don't forget clocks move forward tomorrow!
Fist or nothing! |

Every diaper change I put him on his tummy and he just beams up at me, love that little smile |
Sent this to my friend Barbie-this is her wedding save the date, also known as Leif's first airplane ride/big trip |
