Summertime Fun

Psst...I'm sick again.

Darn new daycare!  Leif had a runny nose all weekend and now I have a sore throat and runny nose.

Besides that, things are pretty good.  Still love how quiet it is around work, and I'm trying to enjoy it while it lasts because before I know it, the first day of classes will arrive.

Thursday, July 23

That Thursday was crazy hair day at Leif's daycare-this is as good as I could get it!

Leif loves sitting up in the driver's seat of my car, so I let him sit up front with me while I switched places with Matt since he had to be at work before me.  Love that expression!

 Saturday, July 25

Christina's bridal shower day!  I didn't take many photos unfortunately, but there were 25 other lovely ladies there (aka lots of estrogen, haha).  It turned out well, and she deserves the best-she's such a sweet person!  Here are the two photos I managed to take, then I added a photo that our friend took of all the bridesmaids and Christina...

From the game, "Where is Joe?" (her fiancé)...we all had envelopes and each one contained a man in a tux.  Whoever had Joe won the prize-funny part is, one person didn't show up so Christina's mom had the last envelope and she wasn't playing...Joe happened to be in that envelope!  She gave it to Christina in the end.  :)

Everyone kept trying to convince me to go to the Bachelorette Party in Vegas, and the more I talked to people the more I wanted to go.  I talked to Hubs when I got home about it, and he reminded me that we're supposed to buy plane tickets for an upcoming wedding in Washington at the end of October, so we just can't afford to go as a family to Vegas/send myself-we also have to book a hotel for Christina's wedding next month.  Weddings are expensive!  Sigh, I won't be attending the Bachelorette Party next weekend.

Hubs picked up our friend Josh from the airport that day and they requested that I bring back Bobas after the Bridal Shower.  I even picked up a smoothie for Leif.

He enjoyed the smoothie but didn't like the boba.

Sunday, July 26

We drove out to the Will Rogers State Park/Beach and it was such a nice beach!  We spotted a dolphin pod, a surfing seal and even a whale in the distance.  I didn't get any photos, but I snapped this one on the way there:

He fell asleep holding my travel toothbrush he grabbed before we left the house...

Wednesday, July 29

Josh hung out with another friend on Monday and Tuesday, but Wednesday he was back and our electricity was being shut off for a few hours that morning.  Hubs and Josh decided to come out in my neck of the woods and I took the day off of work to go hiking with them.  It was way hotter than I thought it was going to be...

Afterwards we ended up getting sushi for lunch (so delicious), then hit up the outlet mall since we were sans Leif which made shopping much easier.  We scored some good loot!  I love the outlet mall!

Hubs took this that night during Leif's dinner.  Such a cute little boy.

Saturday, August 1

We hit up Costco Saturday morning, and for dinner we gave Leif raspberries to try for the second time in his life.  We put them on his fingers, and he tried one, but he's still not a huge fan of them.

Sunday, August 2

While I made pancakes Sunday morning, I let Leif play with water and flour.  I made the mistake of not putting a towel down before, so I did so after the fact.  Still made clean up a lot easier!

Hubs had a new game out on the table, which meant Leif wanted to play with everything!  He was actually very cute playing with the dice.

We decided Leif needed a major haircut for the summer...

We had a really nice and relaxing time at home Sunday afternoon/evening.  Leif was in a great mood and he played with a new bowling set we got him from the Disney Outlet store.  Look at that hair!  It's so short but cute!

And here we are today.  Forgot to mention Leif got bit at daycare on Friday by the cutest little girl.  Apparently it was over a toy, but I think she likes him.  Then yesterday he apparently fell while running and scraped his head.  He's getting torn up left and right!  I guess that's normal for toddlers, right?

August needs to slow down now...the heat can be unbearable, but I like how quiet the campus is, my commute is less stressful and life feels more relaxed.  Don't leave me August!
