Happy Tuesday! It seems like my blog posts happen every Tuesday. Hey, at least I'm pretty consistent...
Weekly recap:
Tuesday, October 7
Weather wasn't too hot (high 80s is not too hot for us now)...so we took a walk around the block |
Can you see a shape in this blanket? |
Yup, it's Miles. He's the strangest dog I know and loves being under blankets. I don't know how he was able to breathe well... |
It's been a while, but I finally had a Mary Kay makeover with one of our current Music Department Assistants...she was a great model!
I'm really excited about this new house because I can now host Mary Kay events and am closer to my "adopted" Sales Director in Simi Valley (my current Sales Director lives in San Diego so I'm unable to attend weekly meetings/classes). I'm currently planning a big holiday open house! Very excited!
I picked up Leif late and Miss Karen, Leif's childcare lady, took some pretty awesome photos:
Apparently he didn't want to come inside, he was having so much fun in this cool truck. So-we have to get him a car soon! |
Then we opened an early Halloween Nana box when I got home...
Thanks Nana for Leif's first cell phone! He had a lot of fun with it, and still plays with it. Success! And also thanks Nana for the cute Mickey Mouse club outfit. |
Friday, October 10
Our school had "Fall Holiday", so our campus was dead. I was trying to figure out something for one of my faculty guys, and I seriously tried at least 10 people before I had someone live on the phone. And even she didn't know the answer to my question. After work I had my first rehearsal with that saxophone quartet our orchestra/clarinet/sax teacher put together. It was okay...these guys were definitely more jazz saxophonists, so it was pretty loud. We played a bunch of classical tunes then a Duke Ellington tune, and they were all better at that piece. I was a little annoyed by the soprano player; when we were trying to figure out a rehearsal schedule, Dan, CLU faculty/tenor player, suggested every Friday and I said it's hard for me since I have a baby to pick up after work and it costs extra for him to stay late...the soprano guy spurts, "Yes or No?". Folks, when ever someone gives me that sort of blunt ultimatum, I get angry. Especially when it cuts me off. RUDE! I said flat out no, but every other Friday will work-since that's what the alto player had originally said in his email even though he didn't speak up. I already have a bad feeling about this. But, I'm playing, and I really do miss playing with a quartet. So our next rehearsal is October 24. What I don't get is Dan titled us "CLU Faculty Quartet". Only ONE of us is faculty. The other two I have no clue what they do. I'm going to give it a semester and see where it takes me.
I picked up Leif and when I got home:
Sleepy fella, played real hard at Miss Karen's. |
Quick note-we could have picked up our keys on Friday, but since hubs was working and I had my rehearsal, we had no time. But most of Saturday we dedicated to packing (the WORST). We couldn't pack much while Leif was awake, but he had a good day playing.
While I was doing laundry, hubs was watching Leif look at one of his books |
Purchased Friday, gone Saturday night. Sigh. |
After a short walk around the block in the morning (this week was bad-I didn't go on one run. I will start again soon!), Leif had his first chunk of banana!
Monday, October 13
Another uneventful day-but Leif and I made a Target run.
And here we are today with work being okay and me looking forward to moving this weekend. We are hiring movers to make it easy this time since there is a deal on Amazon Local. I'm so excited! No more stupid neighbors slamming their door shut, leaving garbage in the hallway and sharing walls; no more bad neighbor firing off his harley at 4am on Saturday mornings; no more stupid people partying in the street until 3am...looking forward to this move!
